Unifying Business Voices for a Stronger High Desert
Discover the journey of four local chambers merging into the Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce, a unified voice for business growth.
The High Desert’s Victor Valley region has a long history of supporting business growth. Local chambers of commerce in Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Victor Valley worked tirelessly to aid small and large businesses in their cities and surrounding towns.
As the region grew, it became apparent that a unified voice was needed for our communities to continue to thrive. By 2018, the four local chambers began working to share resources with one another with the goal of eventually becoming a unified chamber.
Inspired by successful examples of smaller city chambers coming together to form larger organizations across the country, the four local chambers recognized that joining forces would enhance their advocacy efforts for the entire region. The merger into a single, larger organization representing the half a million residents of the High Desert would amplify the region’s voice with state and national legislators, increase opportunities to lobby for big businesses to expand their operations locally, and expand networking opportunities.
In the fall of 2020, the local chambers of Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Victor Valley proposed a resolution to unify all local chambers into one single entity: the Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce (GHDCC), which became official as of January 1, 2021.
The GHDCC unites over 700 local businesses, offering one membership for access to all services at lower costs. Our networking opportunities span the entire region, and we’ve expanded educational support, offering scholarships to students all across the High Desert. We now have a region-wide coordinated calendar, streamlining operations for more efficient communication.
Together, we are a catalyst for business growth, a convener for leaders and influencers, and a champion for a stronger High Desert.
